Bangladeshi taxi driver in Sharjah wins Dh20 million Big Ticket prize
Upcoming November draw to offer Dh25 million grand prize
ABU DHABI – A Bangladeshi expatriate living in Sharjah has become the latest multi-millionaire after winning the Dh20 million jackpot in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi’s September draw.
The raffle took place in the capital on Friday, marking the 279th edition of the popular series.
The winner, Harun Sarder Nur Nobi Sarder, drives a private taxi in Sharjah and bought his winning ticket number 035350 on September 14. Speaking to hosts Richard and Bouchra after his win, he said: “Ok, ok. I am in Sharjah from Bangladesh. I am a private taxi (driver). Ok, thank you.” He also revealed that he plans to share his winnings with ten others.
Other winners
In addition to the Dh20 million grand prize, four lucky participants from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan each received Dh50,000. Another Bangladeshi expat residing in Sharjah drove away with a brand-new Range Rover Velar.
The Big Win Contest, also known as Spin the Wheel, brought more excitement as four participants from India and Bangladesh secured Dh150,000, Dh110,000 and Dh85,000 in cash prizes.
Next grand prize
Big Ticket organisers have also revealed details of upcoming promotions.
The October series is offering a Dh25 million grand prize, with the winner to be announced during a live draw on November 3. In addition, five winners will be selected weekly to receive 250 grams of 24-karat gold bars each.
